Reštartovanie života

LifeReset, vypnutie, oddych, prestavenie sa a nový štart – to sú pochody, ktoré v tomto začarovanom kruhu nevyhnutne potrebujeme – ja a môj manžel, my a naše dve malé deti. Resetovať život plný zhonu, účtov, obchodov, kancelárií, prázdnych dní bez naplnenia. Kým väčšina ľudí to rieši all inclusive dovolenkou pri mori, my sme sa rozhodli pre radikálnejšie riešenie. Celá rodina odchádzame na tri mesiace dobrovoľničiť na Nový Zéland.LifeReset, switch off, relax, reset and restart – those are procedures that we necessarily need in this vicious circle – me and my husband, we and our two little children. Reset the life full of rush, accounts, shops, offices, empty days without fulfilment. While most people solve this by an all-inclusive holiday at the sea, we have decided for a more radical solution. Our complete family goes to New Zealand to volunteer there for three months.

Rebirth on the other end of the world?

There is one word used by the society more and more frequently – burnout. A condition of psychical fatigue from work, family, partnership, simply from the life. I would never think we would experience it with my husband. But it has come, it has hit us, drawn the energy that we needed to continue in our otherwise harmonic and happy join life. When we have finally realised and understand that we didn’t want it this way, proposals for a solution came. In rough outline, we knew what we wanted and needed. However, we could not change it and grab the chance here, at home, in this rush. So the decision came. Let’s go away, far away. Even though we have two little sons, we have decided. We resolved to make the long way to the other end of the world, literally – to New Zealand.

Kind of fools

Most of our friends recognise us as a kind of foolish couple. It used to be so at the time when we chose such places for our holidays that others wouldn’t even think about them. At the time, when we were crossing mountains, rafting rivers and loving summer nights under clear sky. It used to be so also at the time when we bought our first house. In seclusion near a forest in Hungary without knowing a word in Hungarian. It used to be so also when we decided that it was boring with one child and there should be two of them after a year. It used to be so when, after three years in the seclusion, we moved to a little bit larger, Slovak village, but for many – out of the frying pan into the fire. However, this unrestrainedness and freedom has gradually faded away. Suddenly we did things that we had rejected and avoided before as much as possible. Suddenly we became other grey people in the crowd, stuck with a mortgage, vassal of the state, banks and employers.  And this condition simply requested RESET. Our next foolishness or a take-off to find the lost happiness.

“Volunteering” with children

New Zealand is a country with beautiful nature, matured society and completely different culture. Simply a place created for thinking and looking for the lost freedom. For us, it is worth abandoning work, house, relatives, friends as well as money. Our intention is to drag ourselves away from their power. Me, my husband, three years old Jakubko and one-and-a-half years old Maroško. How? We have selected the Wwoofer programme. It is a world-wide network of farmers keeping ecological granges, organic farms. These farmers associated in the organisation World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms offer a possibility to volunteers from all over the world to take a look how the organic farm works. For five hours of work and learning about organic farming, you are hosted at their homes. For us, an ideal chance how to learn something new, tidy up our heads and refill power.

A long way to go

The decision was made. Now it’s up to us to reach what we decided for – the three-month volunteering life on a New Zealand farm. The departure is planned for November. Until then, we have to prepare for the long way, for three months with children in the countryside, on the other side of the globe. It definitely won’t be easy, it will require a lot of effort. Maybe our expectations won’t be met, but it is necessary to meet your dreams. One of our pictures at home says – love your life. Hopefully we will find this love again just there.

No prišiel, zasiahol nás a vysal z nás energiu, ktorú sme potrebovali na pokračovanie v našom, inak harmonickom a šťastnom, spoločnom živote.

Ja, môj muž, trojročný Jakubko a jeden a pol ročný Maroško. Ako? Vybrali sme si program WWOOF. Ide o celosvetovú sieť farmárov, ktorí vedú ekologické hospodárstva, ekofarmy. Títo farmári združení v celosvetovej sieti  World wide opportunities on organic farms (Celosvetové možnosti na ekofarmách) ponúkajú dobrovoľníkom z celého sveta možnosť pozrieť sa ako ekologické hospodárstvo funguje.

Určite to nebude ľahké, určite nás to bude stáť veľa síl. Hádam to zaľúbenie presne tam opäť príde.
